Lindiwe Kunene is an academic at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She holds a Master’s degree in Commerce from UKZN and is currently reading for her PhD. She is within the Discipline of Management and Entrepreneurship where she lectures and does research in Small, Medium, Micro Enterprises (SMMEs). Her research mostly concentrates on branding models suitable to the South African environment. She does however work on the relationship between development economics and entrepreneurship; Social entrepreneurship and the development of creative industries.
She serves on the board and is Chair of RemCo & Finance for KUMISA, an NGO on economic development of the music industry in KZN. She also serves on the board of the P.E.A.C.E Foundation Trust an NGO that promotes Rural Economic Development and Elephants, Rhinos and People programmes.
